Welcome to our website!

Dear colleagues,

I would like to cordially invite you to the Advent Symposium Thyroid/Parathyroid on 29.11. and 30.11.2019 in Hamm and Münster.

The thyroid courses in Hamm have a long tradition. Starting in 2004 our course was the first event on the subject of thyroid gland in the ENT in Germany and already included live surgery at that time. Unfortunately, a continuation was not possible due to legal proceedings on the role of the ENT in thyroid surgery what has been clarified in the last years.

In addition to ENT physicians, colleagues from anatomy, pathology, nephrology and visceral surgery are invited as speakers and surgeons.

This year’s course focuses on the surgery of benign thyroid and parathyroid diseases with live surgery as well as anatomical preparation in one of the most modern anatomies in Germany. The event (Part II) is to be understood as a continuation of the course on thyroid and parathyroid gland (Part I) offered by the German Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (Deutsche Akademie für Hals-Nasen-Ohrenheilkunde, Kopf- und Hals-Chirurgie), in which the theoretical principles of diagnosis and therapy of thyroid and parathyroid diseases were explained. The courses can be booked independently and do not build on each other.

On the 1st day of the course you will have the opportunity to watch endocrine ENT surgeons during live surgeries and listen to interesting lectures between the surgeries.

The 2nd day of the course is first dedicated to the anatomy of the thyroid gland and parathyroid gland. You will have the opportunity to explore the area of the thyroid gland and parathyroid gland through your own preparations. In the afternoon we will deal with interesting news of pathology and  basics of parathyroid surgery.

The event is supported scientifically by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Speicheldrüse/Schilddrüse of the German Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.

Following the 1st day of the course, we have planned a social evening giving room for an exchange of opinions. After the 2nd course day you have the opportunity to visit the pre-Christmas Münster with its famous Christmas markets.

We welcome you to our conference and look forward to seeing you there.

yours

Jürgen Abrams
